Travel with us to Africa!

Global Alliance for Africa is a non-profit organization based in Chicago (U.S.), Nairobi (Kenya), and Arusha (Tanzania). We focus on sustainable programs that benefit vulnerable children and women in East Africa. We have community library and therapeutic arts programs that are directed to vulnerable children and families, and a small microfinance program for women. Our partners work to empower girls and women.

One of the ways we fund our programs is by hosting trips to Africa. Global Alliance for Africa has been leading groups to Africa since the 1990’s. We have led dozens of trips over the years, including:

Hike Mt. Kilimanjaro | Graduate and undergraduate study trips | High school student educational and service trips | Therapeutic Arts Trips | Photo safaris in East African game parks | Arts and culture trips for artists and non-artists | Yoga Trips | Volunteer trips for adults with a service component.

We also plan custom trips for individuals, families and groups. Most of our trip participants are women. We work with sustainable lodges and hotels, local guides and drivers, and local artists.

Therapeutic Arts Trip

Each year, Global Alliance for Africa escorts a group ranging from 10-18 people to East Africa for what is known as a therapeutics art trip.  During the approximately two-week trip, participants visit GAA art programs and art partners in both rural and urban settings.  Travelers become acquainted with our African artist partners and work alongside them to conduct workshops and skill shares for individuals working with vulnerable children and youth. The trip includes a safari as well as a variety of cultural activities.
