High School and College Student Cultural Experience 2011
June 11 - 26, 2011

The Global Alliance for Africa High School and College Student Cultural Experience aims to introduce American youth to their African counterparts. During two weeks of extraordinary travel, participants will visit schools in Kenya and Tanzania, volunteer at Global Alliance for Africa's community libraries, and share day-to-day experiences with African teenagers. In addition, participants will visit Mount Kilimanjaro and safari in Kenya's T'savo National Park.

In the months prior to the trip, participants will participate in cultural formation meetings to prepare for their travel experience. These gatherings will be held in Chicago, Illinois with the goal of providing each young person with a thorough understanding of the East African demographic including current cultural norms, tribal histories, and discussions around the current economic and political environment in East Africa.

Students ages 15 - 21 are invited to participate in this exciting adventure.
