Some people live their whole life thinking about doing something to help someone else but never get around to it. While I’ve done some local charity events and fund-raising , I am now I am taking on something much bigger.

I have decided to take on two of the biggest challenges of my life. The first is climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and the second is raising $5,000.00 for Global Alliance for Africa. Why am I doing this? Because the challenges I’ll face are tiny compared to the life that is lived by HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa. Things we take for granted are every-day challenges for these children. Something as simple as being able to get a safe drink of water or getting an education, are almost impossible for them. Any contribution I can make to help even one child get an education and have a chance to grow up in a positive environment, will help them to make a difference in their villages.

Global Alliance of Africa helps provide care, training and support so communities can develop sustainable programs. Through these programs communities can provide long- term support to HIV/AIDS orphans. Our group will get a chance to see these programs in action. We will also meet some of the amazing people of Africa.

I’ll just be sacrificing a little time and energy to help these children. And while my sacrifices in no way come close their daily challenges, I am hoping to help make a real difference in their lives. I would very much appreciate your help. My goal is to raise $5,000.00.
