Our Mission
Global Alliance for Africa transforms the lives of orphans and vulnerable children affected by the AIDS pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa by partnering with grassroots organizations to design and implement innovative economic development programs that enable families and communities to become self-sufficient.

Global Alliance for Africa has Launched a Library Membership Program to Support Community Libraries in East Africa.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

asdrWith the support of students, teachers, librarians and volunteers, GAA is raising funds to build libraries, collect and purchase books, and provide educational materials for community libraries/resource centers throughout East Africa.

Each library has a general collection, a children's library, community room, and resource center/internet cafe, all open to the general public.  GAA works closely with the Kenyan National Library Service and local publishers to design and furnish the facilities.  To help sustain the libraries, GAA provides grants to community groups to create business enterprises that will help fund the administrative costs fo the library.

GAA partners with local communities to improve the lives and communities of orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.  Many of these children face grave risks to their education, health, and well-being. Typically, there is less food or clothing for orphans in a household, they may need to leave school to help support their guardians, or they may forgo schooling altogether. Alarming new evidence finds that orphans and vulnerable children have a higher risk of exposure to HIV than children with stable living conditions (www.USAIDS.org).
