  Community Library Program  
  Global Alliance for Africa works with schools, students, teachers and volunteers to raise funds and collect books and educational materials to establish community libraries/resource centers, strengthen schools and educate orphans and vulnerable children in Sub-Saharan Africa. Global Alliance’s work is focused primarily on providing educational resources to orphans and other vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS as a foundation for them to rise out of poverty.

  • Lwak Community Library (Kenya)
  • Mwanda Community Library (Kenya)
  • Donyo Loip Community Library (Kenya)
Some Library Projects in the Planning and Conception Stage:
  • Expansion of Tumaini Community Library (Tanzania) - $12,000
  • Kiona Area Community Library in Kibera (Kenya) - $12,000
  • Makomboki Community Library (Kenya) - $12,000
  • Metu Community Library ( Northern Uganda) - $12,000
  • Kimai Primary School (Kenya) - $12,000
  • Kibosho Community Library (Tanzania) - $12,000
Ongoing School Library Enhancement Projects:
  • Ndumbinyi Primary School, Kenya
  • St. Edmund Rice School, Tanzania
  • Kinana Secondary School, Tanzania
  • Sacred Heart Kiteredde Secondary School, Uganda
  • Metu Day Secondary School, Northern Uganda
  • Iceme Girls Secondary School, Northern Uganda
  • Pongborong Primary School, Southern Sudan
Donations can help us:
  • Construct and/or enhance community library facilities - $12,000 each
  • Train teachers and librarians to create effective, useful libraries - $2,000
  • Pay Library personnel - $2,000
  • Purchase local textbooks and African authored works of fiction and non fiction - $1,000
  • Purchase computers and materials to help establish internet sites at libraries - $5,000
  • Locally store and transport books and in-kind donations of school and art supplies in preparation for international shipments $1,000
  • Help clear and transport books and materials to inland partner locations $3,000
